Victoria, BC – 06/08/2021 – RaceRocks is pleased to announce its commitment to the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program.

Established in 2001, the PAR program includes online management and reporting tool that supports participating companies’ efforts towards progressive improvement in Indigenous relations, and a certification program that confirms corporate performance in Indigenous relations at the bronze, silver or gold level.

The PAR Program provides a high level of assurance through the independent, third-party verification of company reports on measurable outcomes and initiatives in four performance areas: Leadership Actions, Employment, Business Development, and Community Relations (Engagement and Support). The final company level is determined by a jury comprised of Indigenous business people.

Over the past year, RaceRocks have been working towards structuring and planning their PAR initiative that establishes leadership’s commitment to the program, a commitment to develop and sustain positive community relationships, attendance of cultural awareness training from executives and an Indigenous relations policy. They are now embarking on the next phase of the program that will build upon their engagement process.

“We are proud of our commitment to building strong and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses and people across Canada. We understand that this is a journey and not a destination that we will continually learn and grow from as individuals and as a company.” Anita Pawluk, President at RaceRocks continues,  “We are working towards building a company that embraces Indigenous values and cultures as well as embracing diversity and equality from all walks of life. We’re incredibly excited about implementing the program and incorporating Indigenous relations into our everyday culture.”
