What’s the Job?
As a key member of our emerging product team, you will lead the creation of cutting-edge learning systems and training products primarily for defence and aerospace clients. Reporting directly to the Director of Product Design, you will spearhead product discovery, strategy, and execution—identifying market opportunities, defining customer needs, and informing the development of a scalable product portfolio. Your role will involve conducting initial research and validation of innovative commercial products from advanced learning systems and adaptive learning management tools to best in class eLearning content and immersive training simulations.
Proficiency in product management tools and best practices in product discovery are essential. Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and compliance standards will be a huge asset in bringing our ambitious technology vision to life.
Responsibilities
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and inform product decisions.
- Product Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear product strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Define the vision and roadmap for the product portfolio.
- Product Discovery: Leverage proven experience with product discovery tools and frameworks like Jira Product Discovery, Continuous Discovery Habits, Lean Canvas, or Jobs to be Done to drive effective product discovery processes.
- Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of products. Analyze data and feedback to track product performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Product Roadmap: Develop and communicate a detailed visual plan that outlines a product’s vision, goals, features, and timeline, guiding development and aligning stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, and sales to define product requirements, establish priorities, and ensure successful product launches.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch to retirement. Define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate product strategy, progress, and results to gain buy-in and alignment.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the company. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and optimize product development workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus
- Proven experience developing digital and software product solutions from ideation to launch
- Proven experience in product management leadership roles, with a track record of delivering successful digital products to market
- Proven experience in effective product roadmap development
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve results
- Knowledge of product design activities and experience collaborating closely with design throughout the product lifecycle
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and product management tools
- Prior experience in the Defense sector, Distributed Learning Systems, or Training Technologies is preferred
